At chair side Dr. Thetford uses proven technology to help protect and enhance your dental health. We have a computer
in each treatment room to give you accurate information without leaving the room. Our philosophy is to give one on one
care to each and every patient on a personal basis.
It is a wand like miniature
video camera with a magnifying lens that projects a picture from your mouth onto a computer screen. The image
can be magnified up to 40 times its original size to allow us to see fractured enamel, gum recession, and deteriorating
restorations, and lets YOU see
what we see. This helps us to diagnose and recommend better treatment plans for you.
Tooth-colored fillings are a safer
and more attractive alternative to older silver amalgam fillings. These composite fillings are a resin filling that is bonded
to your teeth. This chemical bond allows the teeth to be restored with the maximum retention as possible and look like natural
teeth.
With the advance in porcelains we are now able to construct crowns and bridges without any metal under the restoration.
Porcelain bridges maintain a translucency that makes them hard to tell from natural teeth. Without metal, the
problem of a dark line at the edge of the gums is eliminated, providing superior aesthetic results.
We recognize that a visit to the dentist make people uneasy. We offer oral conscious sedation so you can drift through
your dental procedure. Oral conscious sedation allows us to accomplish more dentistry in a single visit, and you’ll leave
the office relaxed. You will have very little, if any, memory of the sights, smells or sounds of your visit.
Implants offer a permanent solution to
tooth loss. They are stronger
and more durable than bridges and dentures. The implants are placed in your
jaw to restore missing natural teeth, improve jaw function and allow you to bite, chew, and smile with confidence.
Digital radiography, or computerized
x-rays is part of the high tech services we provide to our patients by utilizing a sensor to develop the picture. Digital
x-rays use less radiation than traditional film. Another benefit is time savings. There’s no waiting. As soon as the x-ray
is taken, it appears immediately on the computer monitor. Because of the enhancement in the digital x-ray software program,
we are better to diagnose and treat conditions.
